Leslie Tripathy, Oriya actress shot to limelight when she rescued a boy on April 9, 2008 from a stalker who kidnapped the boy and held him hostage. The kidnapper was demanding that Leslie Tripathy should plead to release the boy.

Recently, she was part of controversy involving killing of Biranchi Das by gangster Raja Acharya. The Police is suspecting a love triangle involving Leslie Tripathy, Biranchi Das and Raja Acharya. The investigation is still going on.
