Dr Rajesh Talwar held in Aarushi murder

Dr. Rajesh Talwar has been apprehended on the charges of murder of his own daughter Aarushi Talwar and house help, Hemraj. According to the Noida police, Dr. Rajesh Talwar had killed his daughter Aarushi to defend his honour.
Aarushi had known about her father's illegitimate affair and had shared with Hemraj. Dr. Rajesh Talwar first killed Hemraj on the terrace and then killed Aarushi in her room. This seems to be the theory of the Noida Police. However, the stand for the mother, Dr. Nupur Talwar has not been made clear - whether she had known about the murder at the time it happened or not.
There are many loopholes in Noida police's theory though it is a plausible theory. There is more to what the Noida Police is revealing. It is possible that Dr. Talwar knew for sure that Hemraj would tell on him if he killed just his daughter or it is a possibility that Dr. Talwar killed Hemraj in a rage which Aarushi discovered and to protect himself from the police he got rid of his own daughter. Now that seems to be a more sensible theory!

Sahil Zaroo

Sonal Chouhan was slapped in Mumbai airport by Sahil Zaroo. Sahil Zaroo is long time friend of Sonal, He was arrested later by Police. There was minor issue between Sonal and Sahil Zaroo, but he slapped her in public and threw her mobile on floor.

Sahil Zaroo tried to run after the incident but CISF guards quickly ran and caught Zaroo, who had reached the parking lot. Both Chauhan and Zaroo were taken to the airport police station. Surprisingly, Chauhan registered a complaint in the name of Sonal Raghuraj Singh, 21. In her complaint, she said that she was a student.

So a rising star (probably) was slapped in the public place, normally such things does not happen. But she can only feel the pain in the face.

Monika Susayraj

Marria alias Monika Susayraj, a kannada actress and her boyfriend M.L. Jerome Matthew, a naval officer, have been arrested for the sensational murder of Neeraj Grover, creative director (aaosiate of Synergy Adlabs. Neeraj had gone missing a fortnight ago.

Mathew and Marria Monika Soosayraj) allegedly killed Neeraj A. Grover on May 7 at Marria's flat in Malad, Mumbai.

The police suspect the murder to be an outcome of 'a love triangle'.

Marria who has acted in 4 Kannada movies befriended Grover when she came to Mumbai in search of a break in bollywood. Marria lived at Solitaire Apartments on Chincholi Bunder Road in Malad and Neeraj lived at the Four Bungalows area of Andheri.

On May 7, Neeraj Grover visited Marria's home to seek her help in shifting to his new residence and ended up staying back at her place. That evening, Matthew who was in Kochi, called up Marria and Neeraj happened to pick up the call.On learning that Neeraj is staying at Marria's place, on May 8, he boarded an early morning flight to Mumbai and went to Marria's Malad flat. On seeing Grover in Marria's bedroom, Mathew flew into a rage and battered him to death, while Marria watched.

Mathew later chopped Grover's body into small pieces and stuffed these into bags. He loaded them in Marria's Santro car to Manor, a coastal village 4km from Mumbai where he burnt the bags containing the body pieces and went to the airport to catch the next flight back to Kochi.

However later, Grover's friend called up on his phone - and Marria answered. She said that Grover had 'gone out' forgetting his cellphone. Then, Amarnath Grover, the Neeraj's father, called up to enquire his whereabouts and he lodged a missing person complaint with the Malad police station.

Marria was summoned for interrogation where she broke down and confessed. Matthew was then apprehended from Kochi and Marria was also arrested.

Neeraj Grover

Neeraj Grover who was missing since May 7 is dead - his body cut into 300 odd pieces. Neeraj Grover was the Creative Head (Associate) of Synergy Adlabs, the same company which produces the game show 'Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai?'

Neeraj Grover's female friend Maria (Monika Susayraj) a Kannada film actress and Matthew, her boyfriend, a merchant navy lieutenant, have been arrested for the brutal murder.
Neeraj was killed by Matthew after Matthew sam Maria with Neeraj during night according to Maria's confession.
However, the police suspect that there is more to the story as the murder seems to be the work of two or more people. The police have also not been able to understand why Matthew let off Maria.

Aarushi Talwar Murder

Aarushi Talwar murder case has got even more complicated with the police now suspecting Aarushi's parents, Dr Rakesh and Dr. Nupur Talwar. On 15 May, Aarushi Talwar, 14 year old was found murdered with her throat slit in her room. Initially the police thought that Aarushi Talwar's murder was committed by their servant Hemraj. But everyone was shocked to find Hemraj's dead body on the terrace of the apartment! Now after much investigations, police has caught hold of Vishnu, a previous servant of talwar family. It is believed that Vishnu wanted to get his job back and had a fight with Hemraj and in a fit of rage murdered him and Aarushi Talwar seemed to be the scapegoat in the fight.

However, Vishnu's employer defended Vishnu( who has been working for him for 8 yrs) saying that Hemraj and Vishnu were related and seemed to be on very friendly terms.

The Talwar's driver ruled out Hemraj doing any harm to Aarushi Talwar. There are also talks of aarushi Talwar's father Dr Rakesh Talwar having an extramarital affair which seems to have some connection with the Aarushi Murder Case.

The postmortem on Aarushi Talwar’s body showed that the 14 years old Aarushi had died 18 to 24 hours before her death was reported on Friday morning. Aarushi died around noon on Thursday, or up to 6 hours earlier. This means that Aarushi was dead long before her parents went to sleep on Thursday night. The body lay in the house much of the day on Thursday & was reported only at 6.30 the next morning.

The cell phone records of Aarushi Talwar's number are now available to the police. It is believed that Aarushi Talwar used to talk on the phone for hours uptil 12:30pm after she would recieve an sms from a certain number. However on the day of the murder, no phone call or sms came from that number after 9:30 or so.

LATEST UPDATE:
Police has told that the murder appears to be done by a doctor butcher. They told the way throat was cut pointed out that it was done by a professional. Police is confident of resolve the case by May22.

Arushi Talwar

Arushi Talwar was the 14 year old from whom life was taken away at a very early age. Arushi, a student of DPS, Noida lived in Sector 25 Noida. Arushi Talwar's parents are both dental doctors.

On May 16, Arushi was found murdered in her Noida home. The suspect, Hemraj was the house help in the Talwar home and had been missing since the murder.

However, the twist in the tale was when Hemraj was found dead in the morning , 2 days later, on the terrace of the Talwar house. It seems he had been murdered the same time around the time of death of Arushi. Check the latest update at Aarushi Talwar Murder.

Vijay Tendulkar passes away

Vijay Tendulkar, the leading marathi playwright, scriptwriter and social commentator passed away today morning in Pune. He was 80 and was suffering from a muscular disorder.

Vijay Tendulkar recieved the Padma Bhushan award, the Sangeet Natak Award and the National film award amongst many other awards in his career which spanned over 50 years. Tendulkar's well know plays include "Ghashiram Kotwal" and "Sakharam Binder".

Tendulkar wrote Shyam Benegal's Manthan for which he won the National film award in 1977. He also wrote the screenplays for other films like "Nishant", "Akrosh" and "Ardh Satya" which were critically acclaimed

In his writing career of more than 50 years, Vijay Tendulkar had written 27 full-length plays and 25 one-act plays. Many of his plays went ahead to be Marathi theater classics. His plays have been translated and performed in many Indian languages.

We salute the great man, Vijay Tendulkar for his vast contribution to Indian Arts and Cinema.

Sourav Ganguly and Shane Warne were fined 10% of their match fee under Clause 1.3 of IPL for violating code of conduct. Nirmala Deshpande passes away

Dr. Nirmala Deshpande, member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) has passed away on Thursday.She was 79 years old and was staying in Delhi. She was not well for last 4 days, and she died in her sleep early Thursday morning.



Deshpande had returned from Dhanbad on Tuesday & had some gastric problems. She was suffering from fever from last evening. Currently she was Rajya Sabha member. She has received Padma award in 2006.

Basque Nightclub is on Fire. The Basque Nightclub at the storied Hollywood and Vine intersection spit flames 40 feet (12 meters) into the air and covered Los Angeles in choking smoke. The club was not open. No injuries have been reported.



More than 100 firefighters are battling the blaze, reported around 5:30 a.m. this morning.

Basque, which is at the northwest corner of Hollywood and Vine, has changed ownership many times over the years. A popular Hollywood club, Lindsay Lohan held her birthday here and Kanye West performed here.

fau Shooting - Classes Cancelled

fau Shooting has lockdown the Florida Atlantic University's Boca Raton campus. The police is searching for a man who opened fire at a party in a residence hall. One person was injured in the incident. The shooter left, and although police responded within two minutes of the emergency call and immediately ordered a lock down, they don't know whether the shooter made it off campus.



The Students are being told to stay in their dorm rooms while police continue their search. the campus will remain in lockdown until the gunman is eight caught or it's confirmed that he is no longer on the campus. Final exams were scheduled today, but will be postponed. Graduation is set for Friday and is expected to go on as scheduled. Cho Tipton is one of 26,245 students enrolled at FAU and one of the 2,400 students living on the Boca Raton campus. Most students commute. About 500 students live at the University Apartments where the shooting occurred.

The case by karla knafel would not be heard by The Illinois Supreme Court. karla knafel and Jordan went to court in 2002 after karla knafel claimed he agreed in 1991 to pay her $5 million when he retired from the NBA as long as she kept their affair secret.



DNA tests later showed the child wasn’t Jordan’s. He claimed Knafel was trying to extort him, and he won an appellate court decision last December.Karla began her affair with Michael Jordan in December 1989. PSLV C9 launch : ISRO

PSLV launch by ISRO is all set. PSLV C9 is launched by ISRO on Monday 09:23. It was the first time ISRO has has put 10 satellites in the orbit in single mission. It is for the first time in the world that ten satellites were launched in a single mission. Russia had earlier launched eight satellites together.

All the 10 satellites were fired 635 km into the respective polar sun synchronous orbit-SSO within 16 minutes after blast off, officials said.

India’s PSLV C9 Satellite Launch Vehicle has carried two Indian satellites from Sriharikota space station in Andhra Pradesh.

1. CARTOSAT-2A is remote sensing satellite of weight about 690 kg fitted with ultra latest panchromatic camera PAN.

2. The Indian Mini Satellite (IMS-1) of weight 83 kg implanted with multi technologies.

3. Along with two above PSLV-C9 will inject eight Nano satellites of weigh between 3kg to 16 kg are developed by Canada and Germany educational and research organizations. These Nano satellites will be used to make use of Nano technologies in Space research and development in coming years.

Scientists cheered as the PSLV-C9, in its thirteenth flight, soared into the clear blue skies in a perfect lift off at 9.23 am from the second launch pad of ISRO's Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

The ten pack launch of the Indian Space Research Organization-ISRO saw the 230-tonne PSLV-C9 carry the heaviest luggage- 824 kgs -and put into orbit an Indian Mini Satellite and eight foreign nano satellites besides the Cartosat-2A remote sensing satellite.

The countdown for the launch began at 7.23 a.m. on Saturday, from the SDSC in Andhra Pradesh, about 100 km from Chennai. The Rs 700 million PSLV-C9 is second to a Russian rocket that delivered 16 in the outer space in April last year though the Russian launch vehicle carried a lesser payload of only around 300 kg.

Harbhajan slaps Sreesanth, cries crying

Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth, leaving him crying, after the IPL Match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians at Mohali. Sreesanth was crying after the match.

Student dies in Amity International school during morning assembly.

A student of Amity International School, Noida died during morning prayer. Surabhi, a twelve year student of class VII was attending the morning assembly when she collapsed.

She was taken to near by Bhardwaj hospital as soon as she collapsed. The doctors were struggling with the girl to revive her breath. However, she was declared dead after two hours of her arrival. The reasons for her death are yet to be established. It seems that the student died due to a possible cardiac arrest.

Jothikumaran Caught Accepting Bribe

Jothikumaran, IHF secretary-general, was shown receiving cash for getting a player included in the senior team. The sting operation "Operation Chak De" was done by Aaj Tak channel. Aaj Tak claimed that after receiving Rs 2 lakhs and taking a promise of another Rs 3 lakhs, Jothikumaran assured the player picked up for the senior hockey team for the Azlan Shah hockey tournament next month.

Stanley Kamel found dead

Actor Stanley Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood home yesterday. He was 65. Cause of death is not known. But Access Hollywood has learned Kamel died of a heart attack.

Poveglia Island - Most Haunted Place

Poveglia is a small island in Italy. This island has a very dark and sad history. Poveglia island was used as a dumping ground for plague victims when black plague spread throughout Europe. Terrified of the black death the officials of Venice tried to isolate anyone that showed symptoms by sending them to this island. It is said that more than 160 000 human beings died there during these sad times. Fishermen are said to avoid the waters near the island because of the chance of catching human remains in their nets.

Shreya Sharan Molested

Hiranandani raided by CBI for Rs.1.68 billion provident fund fraud

CBI raided offices and homes of private builder Hiranandani. Other government officials were also raidedin connection with a Rs.1.68 billion employees' provident fund (EPF) fraud.


In 2003-04, a team of EPF officials had visited the Hiranandani Group offices in northeast Mumbai since it had not deposited a sum of Rs.1.68 billion to the government, as required under the law.CBI is also looking into the issue.

Shoaib Akhtar banned for 5 years

The five-year ban imposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) might affect Shoaib Akhtar's Indian Premier League (IPL) participation. The bowler might not play in the multi-million dollar Twenty20 series.
"It is extremely clear in our player policy that the respective player will have to get an NOC from his home country for joining the league. The home country can either issue or deny the NOC." IPL Chairman Lalit Modi said.

Akhtar was handed a five-year ban for repeated indiscipline.

Akhtar has been signed by Shah Rukh Khan's franchisee team Kolkata Knight Riders for a sum of USD 4.25 lakh. The first season of IPL begins on April 18. Shahrukh will appeal to PCB to lift the ban.

Shahrukh Khan says that Whatever might be the case, Shoaib will remain a part of the original Kolkata Knight Riders Team.

Peddapuri Ramakrishna Soumya Commit Suicide

Peddapuri Ramakrishna, a 30-year-old software professional committed suicide along with his wife Soumya (23) by consuming pesticide at their rented flat in Chandanagar near BHEL in Hyderabad. Police sources said the couple may have killed themselves on Tuesday night.

The Police were informed by the house owner after the latter got suspicious as the main door of the their house remained closed for the whole of Wednesday. Neighbors reported that the couple was last seen on Tuesday evening.

Acting on the house owner's report, police opened the doors of the house on Wednesday evening and found the techie and his wife lying dead on a bed. According to eye-witnesses, the bedroom was bolted from inside and two glasses and a bottle of pesticide, were found beside the bed.

Ramakrishna was to join Satyam Computer Services at Bangalore this month and then fly to Canada for an onsite assignment. Son of a temple priest and a native of Edida in East Godavari, he was all set to take up his new job after a two-year stint at Infotech Enterprises. The couple also left a 10-page suicide note detailing the reasons for their actions.

"He (Ramakrishna) mentioned that there was no understanding between them (the couple). He said he was committing suicide as he did not want to trouble his parents by forever fighting with his wife," Chandanagar inspector Tamarkanth Reddy said, quoting the suicide note.

Mehta said there is huge demand for students for doing summer jobs under the programme. "There are enough opportunities to absorb 40,000-50,000 students," he said. However, as the scheme is virtually unknown in the country, only around 500 students were sent from India in 2007. So far, almost everyone who has applied got the visa, he added.

Microsoft India to pay 700 Crore Income Tax

Major Software Company Microsoft India has been asked to pay Rs 700 crore income tax, including penal interest for the financial year 1998-99 to 2003-04, by Commissioner of Income Tax (CIT), dealing in international taxation cases, in its recent judgment.

The question is whether Microsoft's revenue in India is from royalty on licensing the software to end-users or is it income from its India operations. Microsoft operates in India through Gracemac Corp.

However, the IT department contended that the company had licensed Microsoft (MS) software to end-users in India. The assessing officer of the department held that income received by the company from licensing of software in India was taxable as it is a royalty income. The officer had passed an order to tax about 35% to 40% of the total income of Rs 2,240 crore.

First Eco-friendly Pub in Scotland

Scotland is expected to come up with its first eco-friendly pub in a fortnight, built with "green" timber, and one that uses water heated by a canal and treats its waste naturally.

The Boathouse, which is to be opened by British Waterways, will be the first in a string of environmentally friendly canal-side pubs across the country.

The pub, at Auchinstarry, near Kilsyth on the Forth and Clyde Canal, is claimed to be Scotland's first sustainable bar.

The Boathouse, which is expected to open in two weeks, has been built using timber from a sustainable source, complete with higher than required levels of insulation. Hot water and heating are provided by a geothermal system, using residual heat from water in the canal, which remains at 8-12C all year round.

The Boathouse has ten bedrooms, water use is minimised, with features such waterless urinals and low-flush loos in the toilets. Energy efficient lighting and refrigeration have also been installed, with sensors automatically switching off lights in unoccupied areas.

New Male Contraceptive With Effect For 10 Years

The Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur in India has invented a unique male contraceptive that can have a continued effect for 10 years.they have also invented an antidote which guarantees its immediately reversibility.

This would come as a 60 mg injection which would be effective for at least 10 years. A single dose, which may cost the manufacturer Rs 1.25$, is expected to be marketed at close to 5$.

IIT is currentlytesting the contraceptive on humans in Pune and Kolkata cities of India.

Three-year-old trapped in borewell Near Agra

A three-year-old girl Vandana fell into a 45-feet deep borewell at a village near Agra. Vandana fell into the borewell in Hulaspura village while playing with her father, police said. Rescue operations are underway with the police, Army and locals trying to get to Vandana.

"The girl fell into the pit last night. The estimated depth of the pit is 35-40 feet and a parallel one of the same dimension is being dug besides it to rescue the girl," Kamal Saxena, deputy inspector general of Agra, said.

Food and oxygen are being supplied to the girl through ropes from the surface, they said. Sources said the Army was called in to help, after efforts by the locals to rescue the girl failed.

Vandana has been in the borewell for more than 14 hours now.

Three-year-old girl Vandana was on Wednesday night rescued 26 hours. The district administration, with the help of army jawans from 509 Base Workshop, scooped out soil from earth all night to reach her. The rescuers dug a parallel pit nearly 10 feet from the borewell to reach the child and then dug a tunnel to reach Vandana.

Mobile Phone with Feeling

The technology that makes cellphones vibrate when people make a mistake while typing may help cut typing errors in touch-screen phones like the iPhone that lack the tactile feedback provided by a keyboard.

Researchers at the University of Glasgow in the UK claim that they can expel complications in touch screen phones by using actuators like those that used in cellphones to give a feeling of a keyboard.

Software called VibeTonz made by Immersion of San Jose, California, can get an actuator to move in different ways, such as smoothly or jerkily.

Corporations like - Samsung and LG, which make touch-screen phones, use this to provide rudimentary 'haptic' feedback when a button is pressed, but according to Stephen Brewster, the study's lead author, phones can do much more.

A single pulse 30 milliseconds long gives the feeling of a button being clicked, while sliding a finger from one button to another prompts a half-second long buzz, providing a 'rough' feeling that tells the user they've strayed to another key.

Sliding the finger across a button causes the buzz to be ramped up and then down, giving the feel of a round button.

A new internet game called 'The Miss Bimbo', which enables young girls to give plastic surgery to virtual characters and feed them diet pills, has become a matter of concern for parents.

Girls, as young as nine, can been seen taking interest in the game, and competing against other players in beauty contests to earn money, so that they can dress their characters in lingerie and take them to nightclubs.

"(To become) the coolest, richest and most famous bimbo in the whole world" is what the aim of the game is.

A player has to keep the character at a target weight with the help of diet pills.

The players have to work the missions given to them, which include securing plastic surgery to give their "bimbo" bigger breasts, and finding a billionaire boyfriend to bankroll her while keeping a constant check on her hunger, thirst, happiness and other statistics.

Since its launch a month ago, the game has earned about 200,000 players in Britain to date. Most of these players are girls aged between nine to 16.

Once a players runs out of virtual cash, the contestant can send text messages costing 1.50 pounds each to top up their accounts.

While French dieticians and parents have condemned the sister website in France, the game's creators claim it is "harmless fun".

For decades, women have been using the pill to not get pregnant. However, for women who do want a baby but are finding it difficult to conceive, the very same contraceptive may be a boon, say researchers at Tel Aviv University.

On a study conducted on 1,800 women at the Infertility and IVF Unit at the Helen Schneider Hospital for Women, Rabin Medical Centre, researchers led by Dr. Haim Pinkas, found that a two-week intervention treatment using a standard low-dose birth control pill can help time egg harvesting – making the in vitro fertilisation (IVF) more convenient for doctor and patient.

According to clinicians, the ability to time the IVF process is also crucial to successfully conceiving.

Halle Berry has named her newborn daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry. The 41-year-old Monster’s Ball actress – who gave birth to her first child with her model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry in Los Angeles, recently, revealed she and Gabriel struggled to agree on what to call their new arrival.

In a freak case A class XI girl who used an emergency contraceptive pill to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, and was at peace with herself, recently delivered a 3-kg baby in the toilet bowl. This is a case of Ahmedabad city of India.

She was plump and had no clue that she was pregnant. Doctors were shocked when the girl, who was admitted to the hospital recently after she delivered the child in the toilet of her home, told them that she never realised she was pregnant.

She told the doctors that she thought she had taken care of the possibility of being pregnant by popping an emergency contraceptive pill within three days of having unprotected sex with a boy.

According to a new study, the number of teenagers having breast enlargement operations has increased by more than 150 percent in the past year.

Medics believe that girls undergoing the procedure are aping celebrities who have surgically enhanced their figures.


Statistics from three of Britain's largest cosmetic surgery chains show almost 600 teenagers had the surgery last year.

One group has reported a more than fivefold increase. Transform, which has a chain of 22 clinics, performed 169 breast enlargements on 18-year-olds and 19-year-olds, up from 31 the year before. It now offers the surgery on credit with 0 percent interest.

The doctors say that young women are reading various magazines which show that how celebrities alter their bodies through surgery. And so, the teens want to follow the suit.

While Tara Tiny and Tara Titu are priced at Rs 99,000 (approximately), Tara Shuttle and Tara Carrier are priced at Rs 500,000 (approximately).

A daily 6-hour charge enables bikes to travel 80 to 100 km, whereas the cars (all variants) need 8 hours of charging to cover the same distance.






Some of the cars that are available at the moment at the company's factory are left-hand drives as "they are meant for the markets in the United States and China," informed Ganguly. "Those meant for the Indian market are being reassembled at our workshops."

Apart from West Bengal, the company's other production centres are located in Pondicherry and Lucknow.

Swift Dzire (! desire) unveiled by Maruti

Swift Dzire, new Sedan by Maruti was unveiled by Maruti. It would be launched on March 29.

This is advanced version of current swift model. Maruti has not still anounced the price but petrol version is expected to be priced between Rs 4.75 to Rs 5 lakh, and the diesel variant would be available for above Rs 5.5 lakh.

Maruti launched entry level sedan Swift DZire with an introductory price ranging from Rs 4.49 lakh to Rs 6.7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The DZire, the seventh model Maruti Suzuki has launched in the last three years, comes in both in diesel and petrol variants powered by 1.3 litre engines. The Petrol variant will cost Rs 4.49 to Rs 5.9 lakh and the diesel Rs 5.39 to Rs 6.7 lakh. The DZire, which offers features including integrated stereo, steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, power windows and dual airbags, has come as replacement of its earlier mid-size sedan Esteem.

Car Rate reduced in Budget 2008

Samll Car rates would reduce because of reduction in excise duty on small cars from 16% to 12%. Santro rate would reduce by RS 12,000-14,000 , i10 by 12,000-15,000 and Getz by 14,000-16,000 .

General Motors would also reduce the rates of Chevrolet, Spark and U-VA by Rs 7,500-Rs 14,000.

The rates of Maruti cars Swift, Zen, Alto would also reduce.

This excise duty reduction is on cars measuring less than four metres and with petrol engines less than 1200cc and diesel engines less than 1500cc.

Cockroach Trapped In Microwave

Last night I was cooking dinner when all of a sudden saw something that made me crazy. A cockroach was trapped between the double glazing of the microwave door while the pasta was cooking. Who knows there might be a whole army of cockroach eggs ready to get hatched inside. Yikes!

Ive tried all kinds of things to get rid of the roach, tried drumming on the microwave door, opened and closed it several times, left the door open for some time but i guess the creature likes it there. Trying to find stuff on the net to get the roach out but no luck till now.

Arrested for laughing

A young woman who was several months pregnant boarded a bus.

Chinese Jet Plane Temporary repairs

A pilot for a Chinese carrier requested permission and landed at FRA (Frankfurt , Germany ) for an unscheduled refueling stop. The reason became soon apparent to the ground crew: The Number 3 engine had been shutdown previously because of excessive vibration, and because it didn't look too good. It had apparently been no problem for the tough guys back in China : as they took some sturdy straps and wrapped them around two of the fan blades and the structures behind, thus stopping any unwanted wind-milling (engine spinning by itself due to airflow passing thru the blades during flight) and associated uncomfortable vibration caused by the suboptimal fan.



Note that the straps are seat-belts....how resourceful! After making the 'repairs', off they went into the wild blue yonder with another revenue-making flight on only three engines! With the increased fuel consumption, they got a bit low on fuel, and just set it down at the closest airport (FRA) for a quick refill.

That's when the problems started: The Germans, who are kind of picky about this stuff, inspected the malfunctioning engine and immediately grounded the aircraft. (Besides the seat-belts, notice the appalling condition of the fan blades.) The airline operator had to send a chunk of money to get the first engine replaced (took about 10 days). The repair contractor decided to do some impromptu inspection work on the other engines, none of which looked all that great either. The result: a total of 3 engines were eventually changed on this plane before it was permitted to fly again.

Dr Amit Kumar, Kidney Racket kingpin arrested in Nepal

Dr Amit Kumar, the alleged mastermind of India's biggest kidney transplant racket, was on Thursday arrested from a jungle resort, 60 km from Indo-Nepal border.

The doctor who is believed to have conducted over 500 illegal operations in a decade, wanted by police in Haryana state of India and some other states, was nabbed from Hotel Wildlife Camp in Chitwan, 160 kms from here at 5 PM, hours.

Dr Amit has owned up that he performed around 300-400 kidney transplants with a 4-doctor team. The racket had been going on for six to seven years. The victims used to be brought with the lure of giving them jobs but their kidneys used to be removed. They were being given up to Rs 1 lakh for kidney removal. The kidneys were being sold at prices ranging from Rs 1 to 1.5 million.

The doctor was found with 1,45,000 dollars and a draft for 936 Euros in his possession. the doctor allegedly offered Rs 20 lakh as bribe to the Nepal police in lieu of freedom.
